Building New? Make It Smart From Day One
Every smart home feature on this site can be retrofitted, but if you're building or doing a major renovation, there's a real cost advantage to specifying it upfront instead.
Why timing matters
Wiring for smart switches, sensors, and relays costs almost nothing extra when it's part of the original electrical plan, a few extra runs while the walls are already open. Adding the same functionality after the fact usually means working around finished walls, tiled bathrooms, or a switchboard that's already full.
What we'd typically plan in
Lighting circuits split for scene control, an energy meter at the board from day one, wiring for blinds or curtain motors even if you're not installing them immediately, and enough capacity headroom that adding a device later doesn't mean opening the switchboard back up.
Working with your builder or architect
The earlier we're in the conversation, ideally at electrical design stage, the more we can plan in without adding cost. If your builder or architect hasn't worked with a smart home electrician before, we're happy to walk them through what we need and when.
